Sticker packs and inverted photos
I was working on stickers for sticker show and packs. I'm interested in working with inverted images and photographing them and inverting them again. I feel like it reveals interesting things about color. There's been a number of times when I've seen the inversion of a color and it turns out to be different than what I would expect the opposite of that color to be.

Working on a new piece from a dream I had. I didn't like the way the photo turned out so I relied on photoshop trickery.

Deconstructionist Redux
I started an instagram page today at http://instagram.com/deconstructionist_redux# to mainly highlight glitch remixes and photo experiments. I didn't know that instagram only accepts images that are square. That bums me out a bit. Otherwise, i like some of their profile features, mostly I like the automated banner it generates from your photos. That's pretty cool. Anyways, so I'm uploading this inverted batch shot to my blogger since it won't fit on instagram.
Prepping new Prints
Prepping prints for new 8 x 10 epoxy resin prints. I really like how the inverted Snow White / Wicked Witch Memetic Cycle looks on that new holographic. It was a special request from a patron, I think he's gonna like it. I think I might make another one for me.

Taking art down from 72nd St. Cafe
Starting to get ready for the move out of Seattle. I picked up my work from the 72nd St. Cafe in Green Lake. They are a really cool venue. Very supportive of work they like. They kept my work up for over a year. Also good coffee and a nice place if you're in the area.

Art at Metro Coffee
Art at Metro Coffee in Tacoma. Thanks to Stefani for supporting the work! It's my 30th solo show so to do something special I'm giving away the large "November" piece at the end of the show. For every drink bought you get an entry and at the end Stefani will draw a winner.

The Two Gypsies
This is my Henri Rousseau and Frida Kahlo mash-up. Where Frida Kahlo is both the lion and the sleeping gypsy. I hope it went over well.
Dada Poem - on holographic paper
I almost ruined the original for this piece when I tried gluing it. I like this print on transparency on top of holographic paper then coated with epoxy resin. I've been working this technique on smaller, 8 x 10" pieces. This is the first time I've tried doing a 16 x 20" piece.
Key Change
This is one of the color pencil pieces that I got to mount to the wood successfully. I did not know that gluing paper to wood could be, hard. I ended up with three color pencil pieces coated in epoxy resin. The resin had its own set of problems. All in all I learned a lot from this show, by face planting. A lot.
A Palindrome in the Heart of Pascal's Triangle
I ruined the original of this while getting ready for the show. The paper the color pencil piece was on did not like glue. When I tried to glue it to the wood the piece bubbled and warped like crazy. I tried to move it to flatten it out and the piece ripped right down the center. That was pretty frustrating. Luckily I had enough time to make it into a giclee piece and show it that way.
More pictures from Expo '13
Some work from the show. These are all over-sized giclee prints, mounted to wood and coated in epoxy resin. A few people told me that you can get rid of the bubbles in epoxy resin by breathing on the resin as it dries. I tried to do that on a few of these large scale pieces. That's how I poisoned myself.
The Cornish '13 Expo
I'm so glad to have this show over with. I usually don't create artwork for a show. I usually just create work all the time and then when a show comes up pick from the work I've already done. I like that a whole lot better.
Show prep
It's been too long since I updated this blog. There's been too much to do. I went half crazy prepping for this show. I poisoned myself twice, once pretty bad. It was the first time I called poison control. They're pretty helpful.
Working with epoxy resin
I was kicked out of my studio for working with harmful chemicals. Wussies. Whatever. I found another, smaller work space.

Prepping wood panels for prints
I'm starting to get pretty nervous and excited about the bfa show coming up in may. I really need to pick up the pace.

Fixing prints - 02/24/2013
I put a second layer of epoxy resin on two prints that didn't turn out to my liking on the first try. I get to see today how they ended up.
Sticker collage 03 - 02/23/2013
I put a second layer of epoxy resin down to cover the spots missed on the first layer. I don't like how my main sticker curls so much, but I think I'm gonna call it good.

Students of Aristotle still think with their heart
I also worked on this mumblejinx print. Now that I'm posting these I'm realizing that I didn't work on any of my regular art prints today. That was a mistake. I still hope they turn out tho. I printed the Aristotle piece on transparency then put that on holographic paper and coated the whole thing with epoxy resin.
Valentines print
Sticker collage 03
A new sticker collage. I actually worked on this and the "bout with a trout II" piece yesterday but I didn't get a chance to post it. Unfortunately I underestimated how much epoxy resin I needed for this piece so I'm gonna need to put another coat on.
A bout with a trout II; rock the academy
Test print of "being 18 is much easier when you're 30" or "a bout with a trout II; rock the academy" on glow in the dark paper, coated in two part epoxy resin.

More digital prints with epoxy resin
Today I'm trying "at eleven o'clock is when my musicbox jock likes to rock, she wakes up the whole damn block" on a chrome paper, and "follow the feather" on glow in the dark paper. I also put another coat of epoxy resin on the street art collage.

Digital prints with epoxy resin
I did a couple new digital prints on different papers with a two part epoxy finish. I tried the "candid camera" piece inverted on a champagne holographic paper and "crossing the croquet fields" on a gold metallic paper.

test piece
This is the piece I just epoxyed. A street art collage. I think I might give it away on Facebook if people are interested in it.

My auxiliary studio
My home away from home right now. There's so much space to work up here. It really isn't as scary or sketchy as the photo might make it seem. I epoxy finished my first test project. I think it came out pretty well.

Broadening my online presence.
I finally started finishing some small tasks on my to do list. I setup a small etsy shop and am making my first blog entry. It was so long since I had created a blog my original blog was no more and someone else started a new blog under that name. Ah well. I'm on now and I figured out how to update thru the itouch, so I should be wired for sound. The picture is a 1 x 1 progress picture from last November.
